About Dave Gilsvik
Dave Gilsvik paints landscapes with a free-flowing style infused with color and emotion, expressing his love for the place he calls home. He studied at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, the University of New Mexico and won a scholarship to Yale University’s summer program. As a young man Dave painted everything and anything he could to make a living, including billboards, children’s rooms, signs and murals. For the last twenty years he has focused on oil paintings of the north woods. A life long paddler, hiker, hunter, and naturalist, Dave paints what he knows.
